Our family’s lighted Christmas tree has to be the basis for our Christmas tradition. My Aunt Minnie has sent a new Christmas ornament for our tree every year for the last 30. Each year we find a new place for that just right spot on our tree.
As a child, my mother would wait until my birthday each year to put up the tree. Admitted my birthday being just over a week before Christmas was not the best thing for a kid on Christmas, but as time has gone on, that tradition means as much or more to me than any I can remember.

In today’s world of green energy and conservation, I have saved a lot of money by buying and putting up our artificial lighted Christmas tree every year. I bought it many years ago, and saved the price of a new tree each and every year. When the time comes to take down the tree, it goes back in the box for use next year. There is no need to put in the trash to take up more room in the land fill.
